SEW – STRATEGIC EDGE WORKSHOP – The Big Picture Challenge

People are different and work differently. In order to avoid losses in efficiency caused by culturally-determined differences, the European aerospace, defence and communication industries seek a forum specifically created for top managers. The Strategic Edge programme has in fact been designed for experienced managers. The overall aim is to provide knowledge and skills essential to effectively contribute to the process of continuous change taking place within the European aerospace, defence and communication industries.

The international environment in which aerospace, defence and communication companies operate is increasingly competitive. The current political, economic and market conditions further contribute to the challenges industry leaders face. They require a deep understanding of the complexity of the environment and an ability to create effective strategies for the success of their companies.

The Big Picture Challenge provided by the Strategic Edge Workshop therefore offers three days in which delegates can make contacts, share experiences and best practices, develop and share visions, learn to manage, and cooperate as part of an international team.

PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES

- Provide insight into major business issues and new scenarios
- Knowledge and skills in: Strategic Management, Market Analysis, Defence Strategy and Planning
- Foster networking and mutual understanding between representatives of aerospace, defence and communication companies

ENROLLMENT CRITERIA

Delegates for the Strategic Edge Workshop come from diverse backgrounds and disciplines. They share a common need for knowledge, skills and techniques required to successfully lead international teams.

Delegates should:

- Lead multi-cultural teams
- Be experienced in the industry (>5 years)
- Be prepared to actively participate
- Be used to comfortably interact, write and work in English

PROGRAMME STRUCTURE

The Strategic Edge Workshop encourages learning and understanding through:
- Market analysis insight
- Reflection on specific industry cases and (future) strategies and challenges
- Raising organisational and extra-organisational awareness
- Facilitated learning groups
